Holland Pools 10th Annual
Charity Golf Tournament
Presenting the Demetree Classic
Benefitting the Boys Town of
Central Florida
Altamonte Springs, FL - April
16,
2010the Holland Pools 10th
Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held
at DeBary Golf & Country Club and was a
huge success! Central Florida provided a
beautiful day of sunshine while the
event was supported by many in the pool
industry as well as friends of Boys
Town, with a special thanks to the
Tournament Sponsor, Pentair Pool
Products. The golf tournament
raised nearly $10,000 for Boys Town
Central Florida. This was a day
of fun and generosity. Once the golfers
were registered, they received their
goody bag and boxed Firehouse lunch
before they practiced on the range. The
tournament had a shotgun start at 1 pm
and ran smoothly throughout the day.
Each golfer had the opportunity to win a
Prius on hole seven, if they hit a
hole-in-one. There was also a Hit the
Green challenge on hole two and many
other contests throughout the
tournament.
After the round, all
the teams gathered in the beautiful
grill room of the club to enjoy a
delectable dinner and find out who the
winners were for the day. There were
also many people to thank for making
this tournament so successful. First,
Mike & Gloria Holland have always given
back to their community and especially
love Boys Town. This is the 4th year
that this tournament has been teamed up
with Boys Town due to the special
connection the Hollands’ feel towards
it. Thank you also to our emcee of the
event, WFTV Anchor, Greg Warmoth. He is
such an advocate for Boys Town and
always adds to the success of the
tournament. Thank you also to the
chairperson of Boys Town board, Laura
Richardson of AAA for coming out and
saying a few words on behalf of Boys
Town. The team of Boys Town, especially
Development Director, Terry Knox, gave
much and did plenty to help create the
success of the tournament.
All in all, the girls and boys
of Boys Town are the big winners of the
day and thanks to all those that
sponsored, donated, participated and
volunteered. We are very proud
of the success of the tournament and
what we are able to give back.”

Affordable

staying ahead of the competition.

There are
many attractions for vacationers in
Central Florida, Tampa, the Treasure
Coast and Jacksonville, but residents of
those areas are not necessarily
interested in being taken for a ride.
Instead, their ticket for a joy ride
lies in their own backyard with a
customized pool that generates a WOW
factor. Specializing in WOW is Holland
Pools.
“Pools are literally
extensions of homes, like adding another
room,” said Mike Holland, CEO of
HollandPools. “They are a focal point
for social gatherings, complete with
outdoor kitchens, gazebos, fi re
pits,eye-catching landscapes, pulsating
waterfalls, special lighting effects,
and other amenities. The options are
limitless, that’s why we take pride in
meeting every customer’s needs.”
According to Mike, the trend in pool
building is the 5-footer that is safer
and allows people to stand in the pool,
but still gives them enough depth to
swim freely. “They don’t have to tread
water; it’s more convenient and
functional,” he said.
Gloria
Holland, Mike’s wife and company
president, has created a popular lounge
spa design that doubles as a wading pool
for the kids so they can play safely in
shallow water. “Instead of the routine
6- or 7-foot round spa with a normal
bench, we can make it a 5x10 or a 6x9
that’s only a couple of feet deep,” said
Mike. “It’s very user-friendly and a
very special place for kids to have fun
and enjoy the outdoors.”
Mike and
Gloria began the business out of their
garage and within a few years, business
doubled, then tripled. “We sold 457
pools last year, and in January, 33
more, which is unheard of in this type
of an economy,” said Mike. “We have had
no layoffs; in fact we hired more people
last year and now have around 45
employees combined in sales,
construction and office staff.”
Holland Pools is more than just building
superior pools and providing great
products. It’s also about a company-wide
philosophy of total customer
satisfaction and doing the job right the
fi rst time. “It’s no accident we’re the
largest volume pool company in Florida;
it happened because of quality assurance
and communications,” said Holland.
“Companies succeed or fail based on
communications, attention to detail, and
timely response to needs. Effective
communication dictates effi ciency and
being upfront and delivering on what we
promise are the main reasons we have a
first call closure ratio of 66 percent.”
In the future, Holland Pools will open a
southwest territory to include Fort
Myers, Naples, and Sarasota.
Ken
Gregory, president of Holland’s
Commercial Pool Division, is an industry
veteran of 30 years. A state-certified
contractor and electrical engineer, he
has been appointed by Gov. Charlie Crist
to the Florida Building Commission.

We
wanted to write to describe what a
wonderful experience we had with Holland
Pools. Our pool was completed in only 15
days due to the persistence of our
project manager, Mike Bittner. Once he
saw that we had 2 young boys that could
not wait to get in the pool, he went
above and beyond our expectations in
getting the pool completed so they could
swim before the weather changed. Mike
was on the jobsite day and night
attending to our every need and making
sure we were satisfied with the day's
work. There were some things along the
way we asked if we could change and
without hesitation Mike took complete
care of it immediately to make sure we
were satisfied. Having a pool put in is
major construction and disruption to
your home and can be stressful. Mike
made this experience enjoyable and
stress free. We can not express enough
how grateful we are to Mike's dedication
and commitment to his job and to Holland
Pools. We have already recommended to
many friends and family to call Holland
FIRST! Please feel free to put us down
as a reference in the future.
